      Chaney Livingston Vernon Death: Lamar County HS senior dies in Fatal Millport Car Accident

      The Vernon, Alabama community is grieving the loss of Chaney Livingston, a beloved senior at Lamar County High School, who tragically passed away at the young age of 18. Chaney’s life was cut short in a devastating car accident that occurred on Tuesday, April 30, 2023, near Millport, Alabama. The news of her passing has left her family, friends, and community in profound sorrow.

      Chaney, born on September 23, 2005, was described as adorable and down-to-earth, bringing joy to everyone around her. She was a source of light and happiness for her parents and those who had the privilege of knowing her.

      The accident that claimed Chaney’s life happened around 2:50 PM on Highway 96, just west of Millport. According to reports from the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency (ALEA), Chaney’s vehicle collided head-on with a semi-truck, resulting in fatal consequences. Despite the efforts of emergency responders, Chaney tragically succumbed to her injuries before medical assistance could be administered.

      The sudden loss of Chaney has deeply shaken the community of Vernon and beyond. Her bright future and vibrant spirit will be dearly missed by all who knew her. As authorities continue to investigate the crash, it serves as a sobering reminder of the importance of road safety and vigilance while driving.

      Chaney Livingston’s memory will forever be cherished by her family and friends. A memorial service for immediate family will be held on Saturday, May 4, 2024, at Dowdle Funeral Home in Millport, AL, followed by a Celebration of Life on Sunday, May 5, 2024, at 3:00 p.m. at Lamar County High School in Vernon, Alabama. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the school.

      In the hearts of those who loved her, Chaney will be remembered for her kindness, joyfulness, and tenacity. Though she may no longer be with us, her spirit will live on in the cherished memories and lasting impact she made on the lives of others.
