      A tragic shooting unfolded in St. Petersburg late in the evening, resulting in the death of a woman and the apprehension of the suspected perpetrator after a dramatic pursuit.

      The incident occurred at 10:25 p.m. at a residence located at 6466 29th Ave. N. St. Petersburg Police officers responded to reports of a shooting and discovered that a husband and wife, visiting from out of state, had been involved in a heated argument that escalated into violence, with the husband shooting his wife.

      Emergency crews swiftly arrived at the scene, but the suspect had already fled in a black Cadillac CTS. As the victim, identified as 35-year-old Yasmin Grijalva, was transported to Orlando Health Bayfront for treatment, an observant officer riding in the ambulance noticed a black Cadillac following closely on the interstate.

      Officers nearby attempted to halt the Cadillac, but the driver evaded them, leading to a pursuit southbound. The pursuit culminated in a crash into large landscaping rocks in the 1400 block of 54th Avenue South.

      Tragically, despite efforts to save her, Yasmin Grijalva succumbed to her injuries at Orlando Health Bayfront. Her next of kin has been notified of the devastating loss.

      Authorities have apprehended the suspect, identified as 28-year-old Devin Hansen, who is now facing serious charges including 1st Degree Murder, Fleeing and Eluding, and Domestic Battery.

      The investigation into this heartbreaking incident is ongoing, as law enforcement officials work diligently to uncover further details surrounding the circumstances of the shooting.
